Swedish juniors are world champions in bakery!

Last week the World Cup for Young Bakers was arranged in Valencia, Spain. The swedish junior team went home with a fantastic result, and can from now call themselves world champions in bakery! Pernilla Boström won the individual competition and third place was tricked by Tintin Larsson. As a team they did absolutely great which was enough for the gold, moreover they proved that the swedish bakery industry is in a high class.

The competition started in 1971 an have been arranged every year by UIBC (International Union of Bakers and Confectioners) and it´s the first time Sweden wins gold (double!). Every team consists of two young bakers that compedes in four categories - bread, sweet buns, croissants and wienerbreads and showbread (sculptures made of bread). In addition every baker also made their own sandwich. This year´s theme of the competition was sport, and the winner Pernilla chose to be inspired by skiing. 

- It´s hard to believe it´s true. To win the World Cup, it´s unbelievable, says an amazed Pernilla Boström after the prize ceremony. Pernilla originally comes from the city Halmstad and today she works at Brunkebergs bageri in Stockholm, Tintin Larsson is from Dalarna but is now working at Lidingö Bröd och Pâtisserie.
