Middleby Food Processing Launches State-of-the-Art Innovation Center in Italy
Middleby Centro di Innovazione Highlights the Advancement of Protein, Bakery and Snack Applications.
The Middleby Corporation has announced the opening of the Middleby Centro di Innovazione (the MCI), a flagship center of innovation for the Middleby Food Processing group. This is an expansion of the Middleby network of global Innovation Centers, all of which are focused on customer solutions and the latest market advancements.
“With high customer demand in Europe for our systems and demonstrations, we are excited to showcase the world’s most advanced technologies in a premiere location that will serve as a global hub. The facility is state of the art, as we meticulously planned every product and application to ensure a one-of-a-kind experience and an unparallelled innovation showcase”, said Mark Salman, President of Middleby Food Processing.

The 65,000-square-foot facility located near Venice, Italy, is dedicated to the advancement of protein, bakery and snack processing through equipment demonstration, product research & development, customer testing, and operator training. Equipped with the latest, cutting-edge industry technologies demonstrated by deeply knowledgeable experts, the MCI will showcase the most advanced equipment solutions addressing current and future industry trends and challenges.
Customers are invited to use the MCI to collaborate, test, validate and train with resources geared toward their specific business. The MCI enables customers to experience the full breadth of Middleby Food Processing solutions on a production scale.
The Middleby Centro di Innovazione is the creative ingenuity of Giovanni Battista Colussi, and is a true reflection of his engineering and entrepreneurial acumen. He designed the facility to be a showcase for all the Middleby companies and a one-of-a kind experience for the foodservice industry. Mr. Colussi is the founder of Colussi Ermes, a global leader of advanced and automated washing systems, a Middleby Food Processing company.
